Luminously Between Eternities

In collaboration with Waswo x Waswo, this past exhibition was a comprehensive exploration of the miniature tradition, delving into its geo-political nuances (encompassing styles such as Persian, Moghul, Ottoman, Thai, Pahari, Bikaneri, Deccani, Oudh, Mewari, Marwari, and specific schools like Bundi, Devgarh, and Nagaur). The project highlighted the tradition's inherent dynamism, demonstrating how it has mutated over time in response to various factors.

By examining the key characteristics of miniature painting (including style, flattened picture plane, layering, and subtle colorations), the exhibition showcased how contemporary artists from diverse perspectives reference and reinterpret this heritage to express social and individual concerns, effectively connecting the historical with the contemporary.
